This is a routine presidential executive order (EO 14354, signed September 29, 2025) that keeps 22 existing federal advisory committees operating for another two years. It does not create any new committees or programs — it simply extends the legal authorization of committees that would otherwise expire under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, which requires periodic renewal.
All 22 listed advisory committees are extended through September 30, 2027, replacing the prior two-year extension set by Executive Order 14109 (September 29, 2023), which this order supersedes. Each committee remains under the oversight of the specific department or agency named alongside it — for example, the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS stays with the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee stays with the Department of the Interior. The heads of those designated agencies continue to carry out the President’s administrative responsibilities for each committee under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The order took effect September 30, 2025, the day the prior authorization would have lapsed.
The members and staff of all 22 advisory committees retain their official standing and can continue their work without interruption. Federal agencies that rely on advice from these bodies — covering areas such as national security telecommunications, veterans small business development, radiation worker health, sports and nutrition policy, and several national monument management committees — continue to receive that input through at least 2027. Members of the public who participate in or submit comments to these committees are also unaffected, as the committees’ normal operations continue unchanged.
